Louisa Chase: New Work

This 2003 Catalogue is a collection of Chase's most recent work. It includes large works done in oil and oil stick, as well as small etchings which demonstrate a variety of manifestations of the compressed intensity that characterizes her contemporary work. These new additions build on the neo-expressionist style with which she became affiliated in the 80’s, the period during which she rose to artistic prominence, and walk the line between representation and pure abstraction.
