Outcry: Artists Answer AIDS
Twelve artists from
the Baltimore region were invited to respond to the AIDS
crisis through creative
work. These
works explored the grief and rage conveyed by AIDS and
formed an outcry for healing and action. As curator George
Ciscle wrote, “This is not an exhibition of information
rather a testament to our commitment as guardians of dignity.” The
multimedia exhibition premiered at Artscape ‘90 at
the Maryland Institute College of Art, and then traveled
to five urban and rural sites including Urban Institute
for Contemporary Arts (MI) and Arlington Arts Center (VA).
