Soul Shadows:
Urban Warrior Myths And The Woodbourne Workshops January 26, 1991 - February

Pat Hays Buick Car Dealership
This multi-media installation by Dawn Dedeaux grew out of
an eighteen month arts workshop program in the New Orleans
juvenile detention system. The installation takes as its
theme our culture's manifestation of urban violence- its
impact upon our youth, cities, and institutions. Housed in
a former Buick car dealership, the work was complemented
by artworks of children from The Woodbourne Center, a treatment
facility serving severely troubled children and their families,
made in collaboration with six area artists. An artist residency
program enabled project development (1 month in duration.)
