XSite 97: Teresita Fernandez and Quisqueya Henriquez
October 26, 1997 - January 05, 1998

XSite: BT Alex. Brown Building, Downtown, Baltimore

Presented in an unfinished site in the new BT Alex. Brown Building in downtown Baltimore, a unique two-person exhibition presented conceptual sculpture dealing with issues of time, perception, space, and the human body. A restrained, minimalist aesthetic was employed by the artists in creating a series of rooms and wall-sized installations that invited viewers to engage physically in a process of rethinking their personal environment, their personal space, and their personal identity. A "phantom exhibition," employing resources of The Baltimore Museum of Art and the Walters Art Gallery, featured artists' and curators' talks and self-guided museum tours to explore the art historical inspirations for Teresita Fernandez's and Quisqueya Henriquez's work. The artists were in residence for one week for project development.

Artists included in the exhibition are: Teresita Fernandez, Quisqueya Henriquez.
