Summer Camp
, the second of four 3-month outdoor video exhibitions was presented at the Holliday Street Window Galleries. The video works in this series each highlight a social issue in a playful manner. Cecelia Condit’s Not a Jealous Bone deals with issues of aging. Ursula Hodel’s Godiva and Cornuto offers portraits of a body consumed with desire, both manic and obsessive. Glamour Puss’ How to keep your man happy, by Mr. Means, is a humorous portrayal of the lengths one woman will go to to keep her husband interested. And finally, Tony Oursler and Constance DeJong’s Joyride is a roller-coaster ride portraying the dissonant spectacle of consumer culture. All four videos deal with issues associated with the tradition of “camp” such as glamour and gender, pleasure and excess.

Artists included in the exhibition: Cecelia Condit, Constance DeJong, Ursula Hodel, Mr. Means, Tony Oursler.
