Encounters Off the Block was the first in a series of four video art presentations at the Holliday Street Window Galleries uniquely located in the side of a parking garage sandwiched between the "red light district" and City Hall. The exhibition featured the work of Chris Burden, Marie Jose Burki, Y. David Chung and Matt Dibble, and Miho Suzuki. The program of videos investigated and commented on the meaning of everyday experiences that are encountered by people who work in the area, or who travel through a busy urban area.
